Job summary

GRS Group is seeking a motivated driver to join the St Austell team, delivering bagged aggregates across Devon and Cornwall. You will be the face of the business, ensuring safe, on-time deliveries and maintaining vehicle condition throughout the day.

The role requires a valid HGV Class 1 license, CPC card, and Tachograph card, with HIAB experience preferred. On-site training will be provided in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

• HGV Class 1 License.
• Drivers CPC Card.
• Valid Tachograph Card.
• HIAB license and experience, preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of bagged aggregates to customer locations across Devon and Cornwall.
• Check the vehicle at the start of each day and record its condition using the provided system, reporting faults promptly.
• Care for the vehicle and assets and ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines and legal/company requirements.
• Drive as efficiently and productively as possible within road and traffic conditions.
• Prioritize health and safety of self, public and other road users at all times.
• Comply with Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive requirements.
• Complete documentation promptly and accurately.
• Adhere to safe working practices to ensure safety of yourself and others.
• Represent the company professionally at customers' premises and report issues to your manager on the day.
• Support wider Maen Karne business to deliver its operational plans.
• Discharge HR and Health & Safety duties to promote a safe, equitable workplace.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of bagged aggregates to various customer locations across Devon and Cornwall.
• Checking the safety and condition of the vehicle at the start of each day and to record its condition using the system provided and to promptly report any faults as they occur.
• Caring for the company's vehicle and assets whilst in your charge and ensuring they are used according to manufacturer's recommendations and all legal and company requirements.
• Driving as efficiently and productively as possible within the prevailing road and traffic conditions.
• Giving due consideration to the health and safety of self, the public and other road users at all times.
• Complying with all relevant legislation in line with Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive requirements.
• Ensuring all documentation is completed promptly and accurately.
• Adhering to safe working practices at all times to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
• Representing the company both on the road and at the customers' premises in a professional and considerate manner at all times and promptly reporting any issues to your manager or supervisor on the day.
• Support the wider Maen Karne business to deliver its operational plans.
• Responsibility for compliance and discharging legal duties with regards to HR and Health & Safety to promote a safe, equitable and legally compliant work place.
