Qualifications

• Must possess an HGV Class 1 Licence.
• CPC and DIGI Tachograph card must be up-to-date.
• ADR Licence for tanks and packages is required.
• Able to pass a medical examination suitable for using breathing apparatus.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate High Air Flow Machine / Specialist Vacuum Tanker Vehicles.
• Load and unload hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
• Perform storage tank cleaning under confined space regulations.
• Respond to chemical emergencies and assist in trauma cleaning.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and maintain safety standards.

Salary: £15.84 per hour

(current role holders are earning over £50,000 per annum with extras included)

Compensation and hours

• Additional hours worked during the week or Saturdays will be paid at time and a half
• Sundays and Bank Holidays are paid at double time
• Hourly uplift when working away from home, including paid accommodation and meal allowance

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 15:30

Weekends as required plus a shared out-of-hours emergency call-out rota system

Working away from home for extensive periods on a national basis.

What you’ll do

• With one of the largest growing fleets in the UK, our drivers are pivotal to delivering essential services. They work hard to serve their local communities and make a positive impact every day.
• This role includes working away from home, sometimes for extensive periods on a national basis
• Operating High Air Flow Machine / Specialist Vacuum Tanker Vehicles
• Loading and unloading of hazardous and non-hazardous waste from customer sites and disposal sites
• Additional duties will be required such as storage tank / vessel cleaning under confined space regulations, high pressure water jetting and repackaging of hazardous materials.
• Dealing with plant shutdowns, trauma and crime scene cleaning, chemical emergency response, confined space and working at height rescue services.
• Complete daily checks of the vehicle and use the onboard technology to complete work notes
• Comply with all traffic laws and legislation and ensure their work environment is safe and clean at all times.

• Ability to pass a medical suitable for active wearing and use of breathing apparatus due to the nature of the role
