Job summary

The Best Connection in Southampton is seeking experienced HGV Cat C+E Drivers to join our client for an ongoing role with potential for full-time permanent work.

Salary is £17.00 to £18.50 per hour, with shifts Monday to Friday and a 10 hour minimum per shift. Start times are AM or PM. Deliveries and trunking extend to the Midlands; DP World card, CPC & DIGI required, and a driving assessment & induction will be completed.

Qualifications

• Full UK Class 1 licence required and container/logistics dock experience.
• CPC & DIGI qualifications are mandatory.
• DP World Card valid and up-to-date.
• Must complete driving assessment and induction.
• Experience entering and exiting docks is essential.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting containers from the dock to local companies or trunking up to the Midlands.
• Day or Night trunking up to the Midlands with general haulage; curtain-side double decker work.
• No hand-balling involved; perform vehicle checks and secure loads.
• Report any issues to the night manager.

Here at The Best Connection we are looking for experienced HGV Cat C+E Drivers to join our client based in Southampton. This is an ongoing role, with potential to go full time with a contract.

Salary - £17.00 / £18.50 per hour

Shift Pattern - Monday to Friday 10 hour minimum

Location - Southampton

Start Time - AM OR PM SHIFTS

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Delivering and collecting containers from the dock to local companies or Trunking up to Midlands.
• Day or Night trunking up to the midlands with General Haulage so Curtain side double decker work
• No hand-balling involved
• Vehicle checks, making sure the containers are secured
• Reporting any issues to the night manager

WHAT IS REQUIRED/BENEFITS:

• Full UK Class 1 licence
• CPC & DIGI required
• Valid DP World Card
• Must complete driving assessment & induction
• Container experience is essential
• Must have been in and out of the docks
