About the Client/Child: Zach (5) is a bright, affectionate, and sociable little boy who loves singing nursery rhymes, running around and playing with the family dog, spending time with his 8-month-old baby brother Ollie, and exploring the park. He has Dravet Syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy, but thanks to new medication and a strict ketogenic diet, his seizures are now much less frequent, with only a few mild episodes each month. Clear seizure protocols are in place, and full training will be provided. Zach is non-verbal, but he communicates wonderfully through his iPad, using it to share his needs, preferences, and choices.

The Role at a Glance

We’re looking for a warm, proactive SEN Nanny or Manny to support Zach to reach his full potential and enjoying a fun, fulfilling daily routine. With full training provided, you’ll gain confidence in managing his occasional seizures and supporting his communication through his iPad talker. The role also includes helping with baby Ollie (particularly when Zach is at school), batch cooking ketogenic meals, completing nursery duties, and running occasional errands. Additional hours for Saturday mornings and babysitting are available and paid for separately. The family are currently based in St Albans and will be moving to Harrogate in the New year. The hourly rate offered for weekdays is £18.00 and £19.00 Gross Per Hour for weekends.
