About the Role

We are recruiting experienced Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Engineers to join the maintenance team operating at Gatwick Airport. This is a hands‑on, technically varied role focused on the maintenance, repair, and servicing of airside vehicles and equipment used across daily airport operations. The position offers long‑term stability, excellent earning potential, and the opportunity to work in a fast‑paced, safety‑critical environment supporting some of the UK's busiest airports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service, maintain, and repair a range of airport GSE, including tugs, belt loaders, pushbacks, and other airside vehicles.
  • Carry out mechanical and electrical planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and fault diagnostics.
  • Diagnose and repair faults across hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical (12/24V), and mechanical systems.
  • Complete all job documentation, service reports, and maintenance records accurately.
  • Liaise with internal teams, supervisors, and customers to ensure high service standards are met.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations, airside rules, and company compliance procedures.
Equipment You'll Work On
  • Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and airside vehicles such as tugs, GPUs, ASUs, and belt loaders.
  • Diesel, electric, and hybrid-powered systems.
  • Lifting systems, hydraulics, power units, and mechanical assemblies.
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Proven experience working on GSE, heavy plant, construction, or military vehicles (strong light vehicle experience will also be considered).
  • City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Motor Mechanics / Engineering.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Ability to pass CRC checks and obtain GSAT certification through in‑house training.
  • Five years' checkable work history to obtain an airside pass.
  • HGV Class 1 Licence (preferred but not essential).

  • Flexible and comfortable working rotating day and night shifts on a 4 on / 4 off pattern.
