Job summary

Aira is seeking a Heating System Design Engineer to lead domestic air source heat pump projects. You will perform site surveys, collect installation data, and generate accurate heat loss calculations to support efficient, validated installations.

You will stay current with heat pump guidelines and building regulations, advise customers, and ensure proposals are feasible before proceeding. Aira provides equipment and a supportive team.

Qualifications

Design high quality air source heat pump installations for domestic properties.
Gather data from quotes, property and survey data to generate heat loss calculations.
Keep up to date with guidance for heat pumps, low carbon heating, and building regulations.

Responsibilities

Attend customer properties in your designated area.
Conduct a site survey and collect data relevant to installation requirements.
Carry out a room-by-room heat loss assessment.
Determine which radiators need to be replaced and communicate this to the customer.
Answer technical queries from the customer.
Communicate price changes with the customer and explain the reasons.
Obtain approval from the customer for your proposal to go ahead.
Create a list of materials required for the installation.

About the role as Heating System Design Engineer at Aira

The survey/design visit is a key aspect of the customer journey to ensure an installation goes ahead as planned, and as the customer expects. You will find solutions to problems, ensure the project works in the interests of both the customer and Aira, and provide excellent customer service along the way. You will have the technical expertise to offer additional products and services we may offer in the interests of the customer.

What you’ll be doing as Heating System Design Engineer at Aira

Have the necessary qualifications, training, and experience to design high quality air source heat pump installations for domestic properties.
Gather information from the quote, property and your survey data to generate an accurate heat loss calculation and emitter output requirements
Find solutions to any technical issues where possible to ensure an installation can still go ahead
Report any issues which may affect installation to your line manager from the customers property.
Keep up to date with all manufacturer's guidance, and any legislative changes including but not limited to heat pumps, low carbon heating, clean energy, and building regulations.
Operate within required Aira’s efficiency guidelines as well as MCS etc.
