Job summary
PDA Search & Selection is recruiting a Heating Engineer to install mechanical systems in plant/boiler rooms and perform minor works in Glasgow. You will work on commercial heating, plumbing and pipework, with emphasis on live boilers and central heating systems.
Welding experience is preferred and a QA/ safety focus is required. The role includes executing installations with initiative within a small team, while utilizing your background in mechanical engineering and piping.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 Heating & Ventilation or equivalent.
- Welding experience preferred (Arc & Gas).
- Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Proven Plantroom/Boilerhouse installation experience.
- Commercial Gas qualifications advantageous – Testing & Purging.
- Welding – Arc & Gas welding.
Responsibilities
- Installation of commercial heating, plumbing and chilled water systems.
- New installations and maintenance across plant and pipework systems.
- Experience working with live boilers and central heating systems, as well as pipework.
- Understanding of the working and operation of plumbing and heating systems.
- Working off own initiative / running own jobs as part of small team.
- Experience working on steam systems advantageous but not essential.

Base Salary: Up to £44,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: 40 hours a week – Monday to Friday | 8:00am – 4:30pm
Our client, a national leader in the M&E and FM space, are seeking a Heating Engineer to install mechanical systems in plant/boiler rooms, as well as minor works. The ideal candidate will have experience with welding, live boilers & central heating systems and pipework.
- Installation of commercial heating, plumbing and chilled water systems
- New installations and maintenance across commercial plant and pipework systems
- Experience working with live boilers and central heating systems, as well as pipework
- Understanding of the working and operation of plumbing and heating systems
- Working off own initiative / Running own jobs as part of small team
- Experience working on steam systems advantageous but not essential
- Fitting types worked with – Press fit, Victaulic, Screwed, Brazed, Soldered, Welded, etc
- MI Steel, Stainless steel, Galvanised steel, Copper etc
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) Heating & Ventilation
- Welding experience would be preferred
- Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Proven experience in Plantroom and Boilerhouse installations
