As a Heat Treatment Manufacturing Engineer, you'll play a critical role in transforming our plant into a world leader in electric vehicle powertrains. You'll join a dynamic team of engineers, production specialists, and maintenance experts to lead, develop, and continuously improve heat treatment and shot peening manufacturing processes. From managing major projects to championing innovation and safety, your work will directly shape the quality and performance of the next generation of Ford vehicles.

What You'll Do
  • Take ownership of heat treatment and shot peening processes for key components and assemblies.
  • Lead and deliver capital projects - ensuring they're safe, cost‑effective, and on time.
  • Champion a Zero Accident safety culture and drive environmental compliance.
  • Identify and implement innovative engineering solutions that improve quality, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with Ford and industry standards (GIS, CQI‑9, TS16949, ISO14001 & ISO18001).
  • Work cross‑functionally with engineering, production, maintenance, contractors and trade unions.
  • Drive continuous improvement, cost savings, and Jobs per Hour performance.

What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Metallurgical/Materials Engineering or Science (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • Proven experience in industrial heat treatment (gas carburising, induction hardening) and shot peening.
  • Strong quality control knowledge in heat treatment and surface preparation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and project management skills (8D, 5 Why, 6 Sigma).
  • Confident communicator and team leader with a hands‑on, solutions‑focused approach.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, ergonomics/manual handling, SPC, and project management tools.
  • A self‑starter with a “can‑do” attitude who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑impact environment.
