Job Title: Installation Engineer
Location: Field-based (UK-wide travel, with potential for working away from home)
About the Role:

Our client, a leading specialist in low‑carbon heating solutions, is seeking an Installation Engineer to join their dynamic team during a period of significant growth. This is a fantastic opportunity for a practical and energetic engineer to play a key role in the installation of state‑of‑the‑art renewable heating systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installing heat pump systems in individual residential properties, ensuring all components are correctly fitted and comply with industry regulations.
  • Fitting Heat Interface Units (HIUs) and connecting them to centralised heating systems.
  • Pipefitting for heating, cooling, and hot water distribution systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Performing fusion weld pipework to create durable, leak‑proof connections.
  • Installing lagging and insulation on pipework and equipment.
  • Carrying out basic electrical work related to heat pump systems, such as wiring and connecting control panels.
  • Fault finding and problem‑solving to diagnose and resolve any operational issues.
  • Completing Quality Control checks to ensure all work meets the highest industry and customer standards.
What We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate will be a methodical self‑starter, keen to take ownership of tasks and capable of working both autonomously and as part of a close‑knit team.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  • A relevant Engineering or Plumbing Qualification (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable professional experience in plumbing and/or pipefitting.
  • Strong technical knowledge of hydraulic systems, including flow and pressure.
  • A solid understanding of regulations relating to hot water systems (e.g., Building Regulations Part G).
  • A meticulous eye for detail, with the ability to error‑check your own work and maintain high standards.
Desirable Experience:
  • Background in the renewable energy, infrastructure, or construction industry.
  • Experience with commercial Pre‑Insulated Pipe (PIP) installations.
  • Experience in producing and completing inspection reports for QA/QC purposes.
