Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant with extensive echocardiography experience to lead both inpatient and outpatient heart failure services. The role involves supporting the cardiac imaging department and contributing to a Valve Clinic initiative.

The postholder will participate in the Cardiologist of the Week rota and weekend ward rounds, helping to train and educate junior staff while improving patient outcomes across our hospitals.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in complex echocardiography (TOE, stress echocardiography).
• Experience with cardiac imaging modalities including CMR and CT is desirable.
• Interest in establishing a Valve Clinic and participating in a wider cardiology service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver inpatient and outpatient heart failure services and contribute to service development.
• Support the Cardiac Imaging Department with regular imaging sessions.
• Participate in the Cardiologist of the Week rota including weekend ward rounds.
