We are looking for a Healthy Schools Advisor to join the Public Health team in North Northamptonshire Council. This role provides a rare opportunity to become part of the highly ambitious Healthy Schools team and help develop a service which aims to:
The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and team player, with the ability to work collaboratively across a network of educational settings, healthcare providers, local authorities and third sector organisations. They will have a good understanding of health promotion in schools to improve quality, share good practice and deliver an outstanding school health offer that makes a positive difference to children, families and the communities they live in.

As a Healthy Schools Advisor, you’ll work closely with schools and education settings to champion health and wellbeing for children and young people. You’ll recruit and guide schools toward recognised standards, empower staff to deliver high‑quality PSHE and wellbeing education, and design innovative training and resources. Your role involves building strong partnerships with educators, parents, and local organisations, sharing best practice and data insights, and supporting schools through assessment frameworks. You’ll lead on action planning, contribute to strategic reporting, and help reduce health inequalities by focusing on priority areas. This is a varied role combining partnership working with proactive, evidence‑based solutions that make a real impact on resilience and healthy lifestyles.
