Job summary

City of York Council is seeking a Team Leader for the Healthy Child Service to drive transformation of the 0-19 Healthy Child Programme in York. You will lead a skilled team, foster innovative, child-focused leadership, and ensure strong delivery aligned with population health priorities.

You will work across the HCS leadership group, identify training needs, support staff wellbeing and retention, and contribute to safeguarding partnerships while maintaining high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in public health or child health services.
• Ability to collaborate with safeguarding partners and multi-agency professionals.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of the Healthy Child Programme through effective team development.
• Collaborate with other HCS Team Leaders to ensure high-quality service across York.
• Identify staff training needs and promote professional development and wellbeing.
• Support safeguarding processes with the Lead Nurse for Safeguarding and public health specialists.
