Newham University Hospital is looking to recruit a Healthcare Support Worker (HCA) Band 3 who will work Gallons Reach at Newham Hospital. This post is open to individuals who are both experienced Healthcare Support Workers or those new to care.

We are looking for compassionate and motivated individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality, person‑centred care in a hospital setting. The role involves undertaking a range of delegated clinical tasks, such as :

  • Patient observations (e.g., monitoring vital signs)
  • Assisting with personal care and mobility
  • Supporting patients’ nutritional and hydration needs
  • Undertaking limited range of delegated duties (e.g. taking blood pressure, recording ECG, MRSA screening)
  • Simple wound dressings
  • Strong teamworking and communication skills are essential to ensure the comfort, wellbeing, and safety of our patients.
Main duties of the job
  • The post holder will be an integral part of the nursing team actively taking part in meeting the needs of patients and of the service in accordance with agreed standards under direct supervision of the registered nurse.
  • The post holder will continue to develop essential competencies through training and practice to ensure safety and quality are the priority.
