Job summary

NHS Scotland is advertising Health Care Support Worker roles in Psychiatry of Old Age services at Stracathro Hospital, Brechin. The units include a 12-bed functional assessment and a 13-bed organic assessment unit, managed within a welcoming team.

Successful candidates will support older adults with mental health needs and participate in a 24-hour service rota. Applicants should have a caring disposition, good communication, and basic numeracy.

Qualifications

• Experience in a caring environment would be desirable; however you should have a flexible approach to working and an interest in dealing with older people with mental health problems.
• Excellent communication skills, basic numeracy skills and a caring and understanding nature are essential.
• You will be required to achieve the mandatory induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.

• Hours of work: full and part time available.
• You will be required to work day or night duty depending on the needs of the service.
