Overview

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is rotational, days, nights and weekends.

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Support Worker to join our team within the medical ward 20/21 at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Opportunities are available within the following specialties: Cardiology, Diabetes/Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, General Medicine, Respiratory and Rheumatology.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure safe and effective care that enhances the patient experience.
  • You will be able to demonstrate high professional standards of care and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • You will utilise a broad range of knowledge and skills in the assessment, planning and implementation of care for our patients.
Development and support

We are passionate about supporting the well-being and development of our team and you will be supported through mentorship and education from our Clinical Nurse Educator.
