Overview

Radipole ward is a 33 bedded ward providing rehabilitation and end of life care within Dorset HealthCare. We are seeking Band 3 Healthcare Support Workers with a caring and compassionate attitude, strong teamwork and assessment skills, and an interest in rehabilitation, frailty and end of life care. We are a forward-thinking, supportive multidisciplinary team with opportunities for developing your caring skills and career development.

Applications from candidates requiring skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are ineligible for this position. Employment in this post requires an Enhanced DBS check, which the Trust will cover. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service may present a valid DBS certificate in lieu of a new check.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a high-quality person-centred approach to care delivery, ensuring patient privacy, dignity and safety.
  • Deliver planned care to a group of patients working with the multidisciplinary team and in accordance with Trust policies and protocols.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and provide support/guidance to less experienced staff and learners as needed.
  • Manage a defined group of patients under indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse, using evidence-based, client-centred principles to undertake delegated tasks independently.
  • Contribute to ongoing assessment, planning, implementation, and monitoring of patient care, escalating to a senior registered practitioner as appropriate.
  • Promote health and prevent ill health in service users, contributing to integrated care.
  • Plan and undertake clinical tasks guided by standard operating procedures and protocols within the scope of the Healthcare Assistant role.
  • Undertake delegated clinical skills within the scope of practice, following relevant training and adhering to local and national guidance.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker role with a keen interest in rehabilitation, frailty and end of life care.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team; strong communication and assessment skills.
  • Successful applicants will have or be able to obtain an enhanced DBS check (the Trust covers the cost).
  • Willingness to adhere to Trust policies, protocols and standard operating procedures; commitment to safeguarding and patient safety.
  • Eligibility: not eligible for sponsorship if you require skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK.
