This post is for a Healthcare Support Worker within the X-ray and DXA team at Dewsbury and District Hospital. The position involves working on a rotation basis mainly on evenings (17-23:00) or weekends, typically 8.30-16:00 or 16-23:00. The shift pattern usually follows 5 shifts on, 7 off, then 4 shifts on, 5 off.
Example of shifts starting on Saturday 1st November:
To work under the direction of a registrant (usually a radiographer) and participate fully in the delivery of planned/acute care for patients attending the radiology service for treatment/investigations. Provide general support in the X-ray and DXA team, including 1-1 patient‑centred care, assisting with changing, cleaning, tidying the department, supporting patients through examinations, and performing some administrative/clerical roles.
Applicant must be a team player, with a positive attitude and willingness to take on tasks. The successful candidate will be expected to comply with the trust core values of Respect, Caring, Improving and High Standards. Must maintain a safe working environment for self and others, and communicate clearly over phone, face‑to‑face and written.
