St. Bartholomew's Hospital is looking to recruit a Healthcare Support Worker (HCA) Band 3 who will work in Outpatients. This post is open to individuals who are both experienced Healthcare Support Workers and those new to care. You will receive support to complete the Band 3 competencies and progress into a Band 3 role within 6 months upon successful completion of all required competencies; until then, you will be placed at a Band 2 salary.

Responsibilities
  • Patient observations (e.g., monitoring vital signs)
  • Assisting with personal care and mobility
  • Supporting patients' nutritional and hydration needs
  • Undertaking limited range of delegated duties (e.g., taking blood pressure, recording ECG, MRSA screening)
  • Actively participate in meeting patients' needs and those of the service in accordance with agreed standards under direct supervision of the registered nurse
  • Continuously develop essential competencies through training and practice to ensure safety and quality remain a priority
Skills and Attributes

Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential to ensure the comfort, wellbeing, and safety of our patients. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator who has experience working in a team.
