Job description

St. Bartholomew's Hospital is looking to recruit a Healthcare Support Worker (HCA) Band 3 who will work in Outpatients. This post is open to individuals who are both experienced Healthcare Support Workers as well as attracting individuals who are new to care. You will receive support to complete the Band 3 competencies & progress into a Band 3 role within 6 months upon successful completion of all required competencies; until then, you will be placed at a Band 2 salary.

We are looking for compassionate & motivated individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care in a hospital setting. The role involves undertaking a range of delegated clinical tasks, such as:

Assisting with personal care and mobility

Supporting patients' nutritional & hydration needs

Undertaking limited range of delegated duties (e.g. taking blood pressure, recording ECG, MRSA screening)

Simple wound dressings

Strong teamworking & communication skills are essential to ensure the comfort, wellbeing, & safety of our patients.

An excellent communicator, they have experience of working in a team, to ensure the comfort, wellbeing and safety of our patients.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be an integral part of the nursing team actively taking part in meeting the needs of patients and of the service in accordance with agreed standards under direct supervision of the registered nurse. The post holder will continue to develop essential competencies though training and practice to ensure safety and quality are the priority.

Qualifications
