Job summary

Sandwell MBC is seeking a Laundry Assistant at the Rowley Regis site to support the reablement centre, delivering clean laundry to service users and staff as part of a small team. The role is part-time and anchored in the partnership with Southwest Birmingham NHS Trust to provide high-quality care.

The post requires basic English and Maths, good housekeeping, and experience with vulnerable people. Shifts are mainly 4pm–8pm, with weekends on a rota, and enhanced DBS checks are applicable.

Qualifications

• Basic English and Maths required.
• Good housekeeping skills.
• Experience of working with vulnerable people.

Responsibilities

• Collect laundry items from around the home as required.
• Undertake all laundering stages using machinery provided.
• Iron and finish laundered items including use of rotary iron.
• Sort and deliver laundry items to individual service users' rooms.
• Identify laundry items as required.
• Keep linen cupboards tidy.
