Job summary

A healthcare organization in Gloucester is seeking a Maintenance Operative (Electrical Bias) to ensure the smooth operation of electrical systems in hospitals. You will be responsible for carrying out maintenance tasks, fault diagnosis, and compliance with safety regulations. Candidates should have relevant electrical qualifications and experience in a facilities environment. Qualifications

  • Recognised and registered electrical apprenticeship required.
  • BTEC ONC, City & Guilds Advanced Craft, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in electrical-biased maintenance within a facilities environment is essential.
  • Full current UK driving licence needed.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out first-line fault diagnosis and repairs on electrical systems.
  • Undertake Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks in accordance with schedules.
  • Record completed work accurately using GMS digital systems.
  • Maintain tools and materials safely, reporting deficiencies immediately.
  • Liaise with departments and clinical teams to ensure safe access.

Skills

Ability to identify and report electrical or mechanical faults
Basic knowledge of electrical building services
Competent IT user, including CAFM systems
Customer-focused approach

Education

City & Guilds 2382 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
BTEC ONC, City & Guilds Advanced Craft, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
Full current UK driving licence
City & Guilds 2365 Level 2 and Level 3 Electrical Engineering
Recognised and registered electrical apprenticeship
