A healthcare organization in York is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to provide specialized palliative care. You will support patients and families during critical times, offering essential emotional support while operating independently to follow care plans. Qualifications include a Level 2/3 NVQ in Health and Social Care and relevant care experience. With your background in End of Life care, you are well-equipped to make a significant impact. Our care model emphasises one-to-one support, allowing you to build meaningful relationships with patients and their families, typically within the comfort of their own homes. Operating independently, you will have the autonomy to apply your judgment while following each patients established care plan. Your responsibilities will include assisting with personal hygiene, monitoring symptoms, supporting medication management, maintaining thorough records, and providing compassionate emotional support to both patients and their families.

We provide free specialist palliative care and support to patients with life limiting illness whilst offering vital emotional support for their families.
With experience of End of Life care, you're ready and able to make a real difference. Ours is a one-to-one approach to care, so you're sure to enjoy plenty of meaningful contact with patients and their families - usually in their own homes. Working without close supervision, you'll have the opportunity to use your own initiative in line with the patient's established care plan. You'll be required to carry out a range of care duties including helping patients meet their hygiene needs, monitoring symptoms, assisting with medications and keeping detailed records and emotional support to the patient and their families.
We are currently recruiting Healthcare Assistants to join our Hospice Care at Home Overnight Service in the Vale of York covering Selby, Tadcaster, York and surrounding areas.
Hours: Part Time 36 hours, various 9 hour night shifts (10 pm 7 am) available
