Job summary

A regional healthcare provider is seeking a Healthcare Assistant/Trainee in York. Qualifications

Healthcare Assistant/Trainee

Ebor ward is an 18-bed female acute ward providing care and treatment for patients from the York, Selby, and North Yorkshire area.

As a Healthcare Assistant you will support the nursing and medical team, provide meaningful 1:1 engagement with patients, recognise and de‑escalate distress, and escalates concerns to the nursing and medical team.

Successful candidates should communicate clearly and work as part of a dynamic and diverse team. You must have the Right to Work in the UK. This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa, so the Trust cannot offer sponsorship.

Main duties of the job

Ebor ward is a female adult inpatient ward with 18 NHS beds.

The successful candidate will empower and support patients to aid their recovery in mental health and equip them with skills to live independently.

The successful candidate must have completed the Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 or equivalent, Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent, and must complete the Trust's Healthcare Assistant competencies within the first six months in the role.

Candidates without the required qualifications will be expected to enrol in the Healthcare Assistant Framework, which includes acquiring the Level 2 Diploma, Literacy and Numeracy, and achieving competencies, with a maximum of two years to complete.
