Marie Curie is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join the South Eastern Trust team on a permanent, part-time basis (16-24 hours per week), working nights 11pm–7am. You will support patients with personal care, symptom management and emotional support within a multidisciplinary team, delivering holistic end-of-life care in a community setting.

You will contribute to care planning, help with daily living activities and ensure a safe, dignified environment while supporting loved ones through grief

Formación

• NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent Level 2 qualification (e.g. NCFE, BTEC), plus functional skills in numeracy and literacy at Level 2
• Recent care delivery experience in a health or social care setting
• Strong communication skills with the ability to hold person-centred, empathetic conversations and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Knowledge of palliative and end of life care, including holistic care planning and symptom management
• Ability to plan and prioritise care, respond to changes in patient condition, and escalat appropriately
• A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle

We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement.

Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.

Job Description

We're looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join our team in the South Eastern Trust.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you'll be a vital part of a multidisciplinary team delivering holistic, person-centred end of life care. Working under the guidance of registered professionals, you'll support patients and those important to them with personal care, symptom management, and emotional support.

You'll contribute to care planning, assist with daily living activities, and help maintain a safe and dignified environment. This is a compassionate and hands-on role where you'll make a meaningful difference in people's lives during their final stages, while also supporting their loved ones through grief and bereavement.

Salary

Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 2 (aligned with AFC) £25,272 per annum + enhancements (pro rata)

Contract

Permanent, Part-Time - 16-24 hours per week - Nights between 11pm & 7am

Qualifications

You will be successful in this role if you have:
