Job summary

Valence School is seeking a compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our Residential Team, supporting students with health, personal care and wellbeing needs in a safe, nurturing, and person-centred environment.

You will administer medications, monitor health, support daily living activities, and work with residential and multi-disciplinary teams to promote independence and wellbeing. The role requires flexibility across shifts.

Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, care or residential setting is desirable.
  • Knowledge of medication administration is an advantage.
  • Ability to work flexibly across early and late shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and monitor student medication in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate medication records and ensure stocks are up to date.
  • Support students with additional health needs within the residential setting.
  • Provide personal care and support with daily living activities as required.
  • Monitor and report on students health and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with residential team and other professionals to deliver high-quality care.
  • Promote students independence, dignity and wellbeing.
  • Ensure care documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.

About this Role

Monday: 12pm-8.30pm; Thursday: 12pm-8.30pm; Friday: 7am-3.30pm

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive HealthcareAssistant to join our Residential Team, supporting students with a range ofhealth, personal care, and wellbeing needs. Working alongside residential staffand wider multidisciplinary teams, you will play a vital role in ensuringstudents receive the care and support they need to thrive within a safe,nurturing, and person-centred environment.

The successful candidate will support students with their dailyhealthcare requirements, promote independence, and respond to individual healthand care needs while maintaining the highest standards of care andsafeguarding. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionateabout making a positive difference to the lives of young people in aresidential setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administerand monitor student medication in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintainaccurate medication records and ensure medication stocks are kept up to date.
  • Supportstudents with additional health needs within the residential setting.
  • Providepersonal care and support with daily living activities as required.
  • Monitorand report on students' health and wellbeing.
  • Workcollaboratively with the residential team and other professionals to deliverhigh-quality care.
  • Promotestudents' independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
  • Ensureall care documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
In this role you will:
  • Be caring,patient, and committed to supporting young people
  • Haveexperience in a healthcare, care, or residential setting (desirable)
  • Haveknowledge of medication administration or be willing to undertake training
  • Possessexcellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Be able towork flexibly across early and late shifts

The role will include a substantial amount of moving and handling and personal care.
