Opportunity

An exciting part‑time role for an experienced Health Care Assistant in the Macular service at St Paul’s, Royal Liverpool Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Assist specialist nurse practitioners and medical staff in the Macular service.
• Provide general health care to patients, including personal hygiene, toileting, movement and handling.
• Carry out delegated tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse, such as specimen collection, dressing wounds, venepuncture, cannulation and monitoring vital signs.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hospital Ophthalmology unit, caring for macular patients, including intravitreal injections.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and IT literate.
• Ability to work variably within IT systems and multidisciplinary teams.
