Job summary

Star & Garter is seeking a Healthcare Assistant in Worthing to join the nursing team. You will support registered nurses and fellow HCAs in providing high-quality resident care and help residents participate in daily activities per care plans.

Work under Healthcare Assistant Supervisors and Registered Nurses, contributing to MDT communication, training, and policy compliance. Role supports Care for Veterans services at Boundary Road, Worthing.

Job description

We are a charity that provides loving, compassionate care and support to veterans and their families, both in our Homes and through services that reach into the wider community. Following our recent merger with the Armed Forces charity Care for Veterans in Worthing, we’re looking for a skilled and motivated Healthcare Assistant.

As part of the nursing team and under the direct supervision of Healthcare Assistant Supervisors and Registered Nurses, the Health Care Assistant provides direct high-quality care to residents.

In this role you will assist registered nurses and fellow HCAs in the delivery of direct care to residents, promote communication within the multidisciplinary team, assist residents to participate in activities of daily living in accordance with care plans. You will also comply with all Care for Veterans policies and procedures and keep mandatory training and professional knowledge up to date.

An exciting opportunity to join us as a Healthcare Assistant at Care for Veterans, a Royal Star & Garter Home in Worthing.

£27,534 per annum (£14.12 per hour) rising to £28,450.50 on completion of Core Module.

Full-time: 37.5 hours per week
