Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you want to work in the community? Do you have a keen interest in promoting physical health for our mental health patients? If the answer is yes, we want to hear from you! The Physical Health in Mental Health Team is seeking to appoint a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker on a full‑time, permanent contract with no evenings or weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Provide physical health monitoring and screening for patients prescribed psychotropic medications, including Electrocardiogram (ECG) and venepuncture.
  • Conduct home visits and travel across various bases as required.
  • Support health‑care professionals in delivering high‑quality, holistic care to patients in East Lancashire.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary care setting and collaborate effectively with professional staff.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Understanding of monitoring physical health for individuals on psychotropic medications.
  • Previous experience in community mental health services and multidisciplinary care.
  • Willingness to undertake training to perform ECGs and phlebotomy, core parts of the role.
  • Valid driver’s licence, ability to travel across various bases.
  • Excellent communication skills, empathy, sensitivity and ability to build rapport within a limited timeframe.
