Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant to provide flexible treatment room support across primary care services in Whitchurch. You will assist with routine clinical tasks, observations, and support to nursing and clinical teams in GP clinic environments.

The role offers fully flexible sessions with weekday, evening or weekend availability and options for ad-hoc or regular work across regional and community primary care services.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform routine clinical observations (BP, pulse, temp).
• Capable of supporting treatment room procedures and wound care.
• Experience with phlebotomy considered advantageous; DBS check required.

Locum Ready is seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant for flexible treatment room sessions across primary care services in Whitchurch. This role is ideal for HCAs confident in performing routine clinical tasks within structured GP clinic environments, providing hands-on support to nursing and clinical teams.

You will assist with day-to-day treatment room duties, essential observations and routine procedures, ensuring smooth patient flow and consistent clinical support across the service.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine clinical observations including BP, pulse and temperature
• Supporting treatment room procedures such as wound care and dressings
• Performing ECGs and basic health checks
• Assisting with phlebotomy if trained
• Updating digital patient records in line with service protocols
• Supporting clinicians with general duties where needed

Requirements

• Previous HCA experience in primary care or NHS clinical settings
• Confident performing routine clinical observations
• Phlebotomy experience desirable
• Strong communication and patient interaction skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to different clinic environments
• Enhanced DBS
