Job summary

Locums First is seeking Locum Healthcare Assistants for Callander, offering fully flexible sessions across community clinics, GP surgeries and broader primary care services. You’ll support patient assessments and routine procedures, enabling efficient clinic flow and high-quality patient care.

Ideal candidates have HCA experience in NHS settings, DBS clearance, and strong communication. Roles are ad hoc and regular bookings with weekday, evening, and weekend shifts available.

Qualifications

• Experience working as an HCA in primary care, community or NHS settings.
• Phlebotomy skills beneficial.
• Confident in carrying out standardised clinical tasks.
• Strong communication and time-management abilities.
• Comfortable adapting to new clinical environments.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic patient observations including BP, pulse, and temperature.
• Support routine treatment room procedures.
• Carry out ECGs and basic health checks.
• Perform phlebotomy if trained.
• Assist with patient education and lifestyle advice.
• Update clinical notes accurately in service systems.
