Job description

We're looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join our team at the Cardiff and the Vale Hospice, providing compassionate, high‑quality end-of-life care during day shifts.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you'll be a vital part of a multidisciplinary team delivering holistic, person‑centred end of life care. Working under the guidance of registered professionals, you'll support patients and those important to them with personal care, symptom management, and emotional support.

Main duties of the job

You'll contribute to care planning, assist with daily living activities, and help maintain a safe and dignified environment. This is a compassionate and hands‑on role where you'll make a meaningful difference in people's lives during their final stages, while also supporting their loved ones through grief and bereavement.

Job responsibilities

Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 2 (aligned with AFC) £24,833 per annum + enhancements (pro rata)

Contract: Permanent, part‑time, 22.5 hours per week.

Based: Cardiff and the Vale Hospice
