Main duties of the job

As a healthcare assistant on the ward you will be requiredto assist the qualified staff in providing direct patient care. You must be able to work effectively as part of a team as well as being able to use your initiative when required.

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrateexcellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You will possess goodorganisational skills and be able to contribute to the development of flexibleworking arrangements within the team.

We are an elderly rehabilitation ward, promotingindependence is paramount in order to get the optimum outcome for the patient.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Job responsibilities
