A healthcare provider in Shrewsbury is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to support nursing and administrative teams. The role involves delivering patient care, conducting health checks, and assisting with treatment and preventative care. The successful candidate will work 34 hours per week across four days, receiving a competitive hourly rate depending on experience. An exciting opportunity has arisen at The Beeches Medical Practice in Shrewsbury as a Healthcare Assistant. The role is 34 hours a week, over 4 days, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, having Wednesdays off. The Hourly rate of pay will depend on experience.
Tosupport the practice nursing and administrative teams in the delivery ofclinical and administrative services, working as part of the practise multi-disciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population.
The Healthcare Assistant will deliver there own sessions to include dressings, ECG, Health Checks, phelbotomy etc..... and assistclinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, healthpromotion and patient education whilst also supporting the administrative teamon an as-required basis.
The Beeches Medical Practice is a friendly 4 partnerpractice. The practice is situated on the south side of Shrewsbury providingmedical care for approximately 7,100 people and have a branch site in Dorrington.
In addition to the Partners, the practice has an amazingteam that is made up of an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, a Physicians Associate,3 Practice Nurses and a Phlebotomist. We also work closely within our PrimaryCare Network, offering appointments with First Contact Practitioners, HealthyLived Advisors and Clinical Pharmacists.
Our lovely administrative team includes the PracticeManager, Operations Manager, Dispensary Manager, Data Quality and IT Lead, Careand Community Co-Ordinator, and a team of 11 MedicalReceptionist/Administrators/Dispensers. The practice has strong links withteams of Health Visitors and District Nurses and Community Midwives.
We are a training practice, and all clinicians and staff arevery involved in ensuring the trainees gain full experience of all aspects oflife in general practice

Induction
AtThe Beeches Medical Practice, you will be required to complete the inductionprogramme and the practice management team will support you throughout theprocess.
Learningand development
Theeffective use of training and development is fundamental in ensuring that allstaff are equipped with the appropriate skills, knowledge, attitude, andcompetences to perform their role. All staff will be required to partake inand complete mandatory training as directed by The Practice Manager. It is an expectation for this post holderto assess their own learning needs and undertake learning as appropriate
Thepost holder will undertake mentorship for team members and disseminatelearning and information gained to other team members to share good practiceand inform others about current and future developments (e.g., courses andconferences). The post holder will provide an educational role to patients,carers, families, and colleagues in an environment that facilitates learning.
Allstaff are to recognise the significance of collaborative working andunderstand their own role and scope and identify how this may develop overtime. Staff are to prioritise their own workload and ensure effectivetime-management strategies are embedded within the culture of the team.
Teamworkis essential in multidisciplinary environments and the post holder is to workas an effective and responsible team member, supporting others and exploringthe mechanisms to develop new ways of working and work effectively withothers to clearly define values, direction and policies impacting upon caredelivery
Effectivecommunication is essential, and all staff must ensure they communicate in amanner which enables the sharing of information in an appropriate manner.
Managinginformation
Allstaff should use technology and appropriate software as an aid to managementin the planning, implementation and monitoring of care and presenting and communicating information.
Datashould be reviewed and processed using accurate SNOMED to ensure easy andaccurate information retrieval for monitoring and audit processes.
Servicedelivery
Staffwill be given detailed information during the induction process regardingpolicy and procedure.
Thepost holder must adhere to the information contained within theorganisations policies and regional directives, ensuring protocols arealways adhered to.
Security
Thesecurity of the organisation is the responsibility of all personnel. The postholder must ensure they always remain vigilant and report any suspiciousactivity immediately to their line manager.
Leave
Allpersonnel are entitled to take leave. Line managers are to ensure all theirstaff are afforded the opportunity to take a minimum of 25 days plus bankholidays pro-rata leave each year and should be encouraged to take all theirleave entitlement.
Publicholidays will be calculated on a pro-rated basis dependent on the number ofhours worked.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
