Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate and attentive care to patients in hospitals, clinics, or residential care facilities.
- Assist patients with tasks such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
- Help patients with mobility issues to move around safely, including transferring to and from beds or wheelchairs.
- Take and record patients’ vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate.
- Assist with medication administration under the direction and supervision of licensed healthcare professionals.
- Regularly observe and report changes in patient’s physical or mental condition to healthcare professionals.
- Transport patients to and from appointments, procedures, or tests within the healthcare facility.
- Ensure patients are comfortable and well-cared for by assisting with positioning, comfort measures, and emotional support.
- Keep patient rooms and common areas clean and organized, including changing linens and assisting with basic housekeeping tasks.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient care activities, including vital signs, treatments, and observations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Adhere to all healthcare policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in healthcare or caregiving is preferred but not required.
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and healthcare practices.
- Willingness to undergo relevant training and certification as required by the employer.
