A healthcare organization in Wales is seeking a full time Health Care Support Worker for Ffynnon Ward B in Holywell Community Hospital. The successful candidate will deliver patient care, assist nurses, and maintain high standards of health and wellbeing under supervision. Candidates should have a good general education and ideally some experience in public service. Proficiency in Welsh is desirable.

Job description

A full time vacancy has become available for a full time Health Care Support Worker on Ffynnon Ward B in Holywell Community Hospital. Our aim is to provide quality, planned care for the patients. The successful candidate will work as part of a team of nurses responsible for providing, maintaining and coordinating a high standard of planned holistic care and nursing treatments, under the indirect supervision of the nurse in charge of the Ward.

Main duties of the job
  • To assist registered nurses/practitioners to deliver based care to patients/clients, working in partnership with other health care professionals, the patient their family and carers.
  • Deliver patient care as documented in the nursing care plan. Carry out a wide range of duties under the supervision of a registered nurse for the period of the shift.
  • Supporting clients/service users in maintaining their health and wellbeing;
  • Undertaking specified and delegated clinical and therapeutic activities.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
  • Good general education - Evidence of completion of QCF at Level 2/to obtain or equivalent within 6 months whilst in post
  • Have an understanding of role and function of Health Services.

  • Previous / current role to demonstrate working with members of the public
  • Clear understanding of clinical governance framework
Skills
  • Ability to maintain clear accurate records and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Understanding of risk management and health and safety issues.
Other
  • Team player and the ability to work flexibly when required to meet the needs of the service.
  • Ability to speak Welsh
