We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Health Care Assistant to join our team at Wotton Lawn. You will support the ward team in delivering quality care and encouraging patients to engage in social and recreational activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist qualified nurses with care as outlined in individual care plans.
• Maintain a smooth ward operation and liaise with other departments.
• Develop rapport with patient groups to balance activity, socialisation and rest.
• Use communication skills to de‑escalate aggressive behaviour from patients or carers.
• Provide ward and community based social and recreational activities for patients.
• Seek support if and when need arises and liaise effectively with MDT and allied health professionals.
• Ensure core aspects of care are maintained and develop good links with carers to support patients accessing their finances following Trust procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

• GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
• NVQ Level 2 or Care Certificate desirable.
• Previous experience in health or social care is desirable but not essential.
• Experience in caring for others voluntarily is desirable but not required.

Salary & Benefits

£24,937 to £26,598 per annum (pro‑rated). Pay band 3.

Contract

Permanent, full‑time.
