Job Summary

Austen Court Care Home are seeking dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistants to join their team. To deliver high standards of personal care, contributing fully to the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents. To look after the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs of the resident’s using a person-centred approach. To observe and promote the resident’s choice, independence, dignity, privacy and fulfilment of other rights. To create and maintain good professional relationships with resident’s and family. To support other Care workers.

Specific Duties
  • Provides support and encouragement to resident’s in all areas / activities of daily living
  • Ensures the respect, dignity and rights to privacy of resident’s as far as possible
  • Contributes to the assessment of resident’s needs and the development of individualised plans of care and support, in consultation with resident’s, their relatives and the Care Team
  • Acts as a key worker for an identified resident’s or designated group
  • Works with the care and support team to deliver high standards of service to achieve planned goals
  • To prepare food and drink for the resident’s, being aware of the resident’s choice, likes/dislikes, nutritional needs and cultural requirements
  • To use moving and handling equipment safely and correctly
  • To maintain good communication and develop effective working relationships with resident’s
  • To maintain detailed, accurate records in respect of care
General
  • To dress appropriately, wearing correct uniform.
  • To attend and participate in regular team meetings.
  • To attend in house and external training as and when required.

These duties are not exhaustive. Job holders may be asked to undertake other responsibilities within their spheres of responsibility and competence
