Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in the UK is hiring a Healthcare Assistant to join the Community COPD team. You will support clinicians in patient care, manage health observations, and handle essential administrative tasks. Ideal candidates should be able to work independently and in a team with relevant skills. The role offers a salary range between £29,651 to £31,312 annually, scaled pro rata.

Responsibilities

  • Complete physical health observations like oxygen saturations and blood pressure.

  • Pick up microscopy samples and drop them to collection points.
  • Record and retrieve information on service users using RIO.
  • Undertake word processing for reports and letters.

The Healthcare assistant role sits within the Community COPD team and will support the Matrons, Associate Matrons and Physiotherapists to assess and manage COPD patients as part of their ongoing care. They will also support the team Administrators in their role providing telephone response, urgent communication and diary management.

Main duties of the job

Job share with the band 3 healthcare assistant in post 2 days per week with administrative tasks and patient facing roles. Roles include measuring observations and managing a small caseload of patients, alongside supporting the physiotherapy team during the pulmonary rehabilitation sessions.
