Grove House Surgery is currently seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly and supportive practice.
Previous HCA experience in a GP Practice is highly desirable, however, applications may be considered if the relevant skills can be demonstrated through alternative experience.
The successful applicant will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills and should be willing to upskill further as required. The role would suit a good team player who is able to provide support and help to colleagues to ensure that we provide the best possible care to our patients.
The successful candidate would need to use a computer and a variety of software packages in the performance of their role. Therefore, keyboard skills along with the ability to organise and prioritise a varied workload are necessary.
Support GPs, nurses, and other clinicians in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
Work as part of the nursing team to provide a holistic approach to patient care.
Act as a chaperone for patients in accordance with practice policy and national guidance.
Carry out routine clinical procedures including phlebotomy, blood pressure monitoring, ECG recording, wound care, and simple dressings, following appropriate training and competencies.
Assist with NHS health checks, immunisations, and reviews for patients with long-term conditions.
Provide patients with basic health promotion and lifestyle advice in line with agreed protocols.
Accurately record clinical observations and interventions in patients electronic medical records.
Monitor, record, and maintain cold chain storage in line with vaccine management guidelines.
Order, receive, check, and rotate clinical and surgical stock, ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained.
Ensure consultation and treatment rooms are stocked, clean, and prepared for clinical use.
Maintain clinical equipment in line with infection prevention and control policies.
Adhere to all practice policies, specifically confidentiality, safeguarding, health and safety, and infection control.
Support the wider practice team with additional duties as required to ensure safe and effective patient care.
We are a long-established surgery based in Batley with approximately 9,400 patients. We aim to provide positive access to services and high standards of clinical care to our diverse patient population and are expanding our team to further support these objectives.
