Bramblys Grange Medical Practice is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to work 30 hours per week. We need a committed candidate to join our well-established team in a permanent role.

The successful candidate will join our nursing team to provide primary care nursing services across our two practice sites. The Healthcare Assistant will assist GPs and the nursing team in delivering healthcare to the practice population. The post holder will work under supervision to undertake delegated tasks and collaborate with the team to meet patient needs.
General duties include dressing, phlebotomy, injections, supporting diabetic and asthmatic patient care, stock management, and ordering.
Bramblys Grange is a large, supportive practice based in central Basingstoke, with a branch at Rooksdown Surgery. Our nursing team includes a Lead Nurse, five Nurses, a Frailty Nurse, and four Healthcare Assistants. We are a training practice for GP Registrars and student nurses, with extensive experience to share.
The role of the HCA is to work collaboratively within the practice team to provide services to the practice population. Clinical skills development will depend on practice needs, with training and updates ensuring skills are evidence-based and within scope.
Responsibilities include urinalysis, general observations (including ECGs), spirometry assessments, clinics for mental health, COPD, diabetes, and learning disabilities, health promotion, NHS health checks, assistance in women's health clinics, dressing clinics, vaccinations, and participation in influenza and COVID vaccination programs.
The HCA will also contribute to achieving QOF and other service targets.
This position is subject to a DBS check, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975, to check for any criminal convictions.
