Are you an experienced Health & Safety professional with a strong background in civil engineering or construction? We’re working with a leading organisation based in the Midlands who are looking to appoint a Health & Safety Manager to drive a proactive safety culture across their operations.

The Role

As the Health & Safety Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance, promoting best practice, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement throughout the business. This is a hands‑on role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, site‑based environment with multiple ongoing projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, develop, and implement Health & Safety policies and procedures in line with legislation and company standards.
  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Provide guidance and training to operational teams on safety practices and compliance.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Liaise with external bodies, clients, and contractors on H&S matters.
  • Support the senior leadership team in maintaining accreditations and continual improvement initiatives.
About You
  • NEBOSH-qualified (or equivalent) with a solid understanding of current H&S legislation.
  • Proven experience within the civil engineering, construction, or utilities sectors.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Proactive and practical approach to managing health and safety in a dynamic environment.
