To be successful as Health and Safety Manager/H&S Manager, you will have a healthy mix of the following:
  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field;
  • OR a relevant professional qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent).
  • Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Ideally 1–3+ years of practical experience in a health and safety role, preferably within a manufacturing, office, or similar environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driving license (as travel between sites is required).
  • Solid understanding of UK health and safety legislation (e.g., HSWA 1974, Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999).
