Job summary

Birmingham Newman University is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to lead our health and safety management systems, promote safe working practices and develop standards across the university. The role requires a Chartered IOSH member with NEBOSH National General Certificate and experience with UK H&S legislation.

This is a full-time post, though job-share and part-time applications will be considered. Closing date: 4 September 2026. Interviews: 22 September 2026.

Qualifications

• Chartered IOSH member with UK H&S experience.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Experience in promoting safe working practices and delivering training.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain H&S management systems and policies.
• Perform audits, risk assessments, and investigations as required.
• Develop and deliver health and safety training and inductions.
