Salary: circa £50,000 - £55,000 depending on experience

Location: the role is based at our head office in Stoneleigh Warwickshire with regular travel to our regional office sites. Our Places|NFU Careers

Purpose of the role & how you will contribute

To lead the organisation’s health and safety agenda, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and promoting a culture of safety, wellbeing, and proactive risk management. This role covers both headquarters-based office environments and a regional workforce; and as such both some office-based working and travel, spending time out with our regional teams across the country, will be needed. Duties will include auditing, creating suitable documentation, training staff in required processes / procedures, and ensuring our Health, Safety and Wellbeing policies are followed around the country. The postholder will also be responsible for managing health and safety-related procurement and budgets.

What you’ll bring
  • We are seeking somebody who is a team player, excellent communicator, and who is passionate about keeping our people safe and healthy.
  • Ideally candidates will hold CMIOSH status - Chartered membership of IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health), else be working towards.
  • A diploma or equivalent level qualification in Health and Safety is also highly desirable, but as a minimum you will hold the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health and Safety.
  • Candidates will ideally have several years’ experience working in a similar health and safety role; and a good level of agricultural knowledge would be hugely beneficial.
