Shirley Parsons Ltd is recruiting an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead safety on a flagship project in North London, working closely with site teams, subcontractors and stakeholders to drive a robust safety culture and ensure compliance.

This role offers a competitive salary of GBP65,000-GBP75,000 plus package, exposure to major civil engineering projects across London, and clear progression within a well-regarded contractor.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) required.
• Construction and/or Civil Engineering experience essential.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence positive behavioural change on site.
• Confident, proactive, and visible safety leader with a strong site presence.

Responsibilities

• Lead health & safety on the flagship project in North London.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and safety reviews.
• Provide professional advice and guidance to operational teams and management.
• Support incident investigations and ensure lessons learned are communicated effectively.
• Review RAMS and monitor site compliance with company and legislative requirements.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Support wider business operations across London projects when required.

Shirley Parsons is partnering with a leading main contractor to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Manager to support the delivery of a major project in North London, while also contributing to a wider portfolio of projects across London.

The Role

As Health & Safety Manager, you will take the lead on all health and safety matters for a flagship project in North London, working closely with operational teams, subcontractors, and senior stakeholders to drive a positive safety culture and ensure compliance across site activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote a proactive health & safety culture across project teams
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and safety reviews
• Provide professional advice and guidance to operational teams and management
• Support incident investigations and ensure lessons learned are communicated effectively
• Review RAMS and monitor site compliance with company and legislative requirements

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Health & Safety Manager within the construction industry
• Construction and/or Civil Engineering experience is essential
• Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and industry best practice
• NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) as a minimum
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proven ability to influence positive behavioural change on site
• Confident, proactive, and visible safety leader with a strong site presence
