Job Title: Health and Safety Manager.
Location: London, Greater London.

We are working closely with a renowned Environmental Consultancy, who provide the full range of Health & Safety and Asbestos services to longstanding clients. They are now looking to take on a Health and Safety Manager to oversee their Southern Health & Safety department. This role would be suitable for a candidate with a strong health and safety background, ideally within the Asbestos industry. You will be experienced in managing the Health and Safety department within the company, ensuring to maintain ISO and BS OHASA standards, alongside routinely reviewing risk assessments, and implementing new policies where required.

Experience & Qualifications

• Will hold chartered member status (CMIOSH).
• Will ideally hold a range of industry recognised H&S / Fire qualifications.
• Holding a strong background within the Asbestos industry within a Health and Safety management role is essential.
• Able to maintain and implement ISO standards.
• Will have excellent technical knowledge.
• Full in-depth knowledge of Health and Safety legislations.
• Excellent management skills, able to manage a department efficiently.

The Role

• Efficiently managing and supervising the Health and Safety Department alongside overseeing the training of operatives.
• Efficiently managing various asbestos projects, ensuring they are completed in line with agreed timeframes.
• Maintaining and implementing ISO and BS OHASA standards.
• Carrying out regular performance reviews.
• Ensuring to establish and maintain clear standards of Health and Safety.
• Carrying out site audits and inspections in line with client needs.
• Continuously renewing the company’s Asbestos Licence.
• Delivering in-depth workshops for employees.
• Liaising with internal management to develop health and safety plans.
• Routinely reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
• Developing and implementing new policies.
• Providing support to directors, account management and project managers.
• Coordinating investigations and escalation of all HSE incidents.
• Attending meetings with clients and HSE bodies.
