Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Inspector

Location: Huddersfield (Yorkshire)

Contract: Permanent | Full-Time | £65k - £75k + Package (Experience Depending)

We are supporting a key client with the appointment of a SHE Inspector to join a dedicated compliance team, covering projects across the North of England. This role involves regular site visits, occasional national travel, and overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote a proactive health and safety culture across all projects.
  • Conduct thorough SHE compliance inspections with same-day reports and clear improvement plans.
  • Support project teams in achieving the highest SHE standards.
  • Lead pre-mortem accident investigations and share lessons learned.
  • Deliver in-house training and mentor operational teams.
  • Represent the SHE team internally and externally, driving best practice and innovation.
Essential Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of SHE in construction.
  • Diploma/Level 5 qualification in Occupational Safety & Health.
  • NEBOSH Construction and General Certificates.
  • CertIOSH membership.
  • SEATS certification, valid CSCS card, and full UK driving licence.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to challenge behaviours constructively.
Desirable
  • Chartered IOSH status.
  • SHE-related degree.
  • Experience coaching teams and supply chain partners.
