Job description

Our client is a highly successful multi‑disciplined company providing a broad range of comprehensive and high quality services including asbestos, water treatment/legionella and environmental. Due to present requirements, they are seeking an enthusiastic, self‑motivated and tenacious Health & Safety Consultant based in Darlington (applications from Northallerton, Barnard Castle, Hartlepool, Guisborough and the surrounding area are welcome).

Ideally, the applicant should come from a solid technical, consultancy, management, training, auditing and Health & Safety background with experience in asbestos and legionella.

Must possess the NEBOSH and IOSH certificates – Health & Safety qualifications.

Must have extensive experience working within a Health & Safety Consultancy.

Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Must have good organisational, presentational, leadership, people‑management and client‑facing skills.

Must be fully conversant with Health & Safety legislation.

Responsibilities
  • Attend sites and undertake various audits/inspections relating to the Health & Safety performance of the teams.
  • Undertake Health & Safety risk assessments, audit staff on site and deal with all aspects of Health & Safety issues – IOSH.
  • Carry out Health & Safety compliance audits, etc.
  • Provide technical support to the company’s large and mixed portfolio of clients/customers.
  • Liaise with the company’s prestigious clients and advise them of their obligations.
  • Produce comprehensive auditing, Health and Safety and environmental reports and documents.
  • Conduct Safety Training courses.
Qualifications
  • Must possess the NEBOSH – IOSH certificates – Health & Safety qualifications.
  • Extensive experience working within a Health & Safety Consultancy.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Good organisational, presentational, leadership, people‑management and client‑facing skills.
  • Fully conversant with Health & Safety legislation.
  • Qualified in p401/p402/p403/p404 or s301 CCP.
