Job summary

A leading global engineering firm in High Wycombe is seeking a Health, Safety and Environment Manager to lead safety initiatives and culture across the site. In this hands-on role, you'll manage the HSE Management System, mentor teams, and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation. The ideal candidate will have a NEBOSH Certificate and relevant experience in manufacturing or engineering environments. This position offers a salary of £45-£55K plus benefits.

Health, Safety and Environment Manager | High Wycombe | £45-£55K + Benefits

Are you ready to lead Health, Safety, and Environmental initiatives in a busy engineering environment while shaping safety culture across the site?

Do you thrive in roles where you can influence workplace behaviour, mentor teams, and ensure compliance at every level? If so, this Health, Safety and Environment Manager role could be the perfect fit. This is a hands‑on, site‑based leadership role where you'll manage the HSE Management System, champion safety culture, and support operational excellence.

What can you expect in this role?
  • Lead and mentor the on‑site HSE team, develop HSE training, and engage staff to foster a strong safety culture.
  • Maintain and monitor HSE systems to meet legal requirements, ISO standards, and company procedures.
  • Oversee detailed risk assessments, investigate incidents, and ensure RIDDOR reporting where required.
  • Chair the HSE Committee, collaborate with operations, and represent the organisation with regulators such as HSE and the Environment Agency.
  • Manage hazardous and non‑hazardous waste, fire safety, and other environmental initiatives to ensure compliance.

  • NEBOSH Certificate as a minimum (or equivalent). Environmental qualification desirable.
  • Relevant experience managing HSE in manufacturing or engineering environments.
  • Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
  • Ability to engage and motivate people at all levels, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A hands‑on approach and a can do attitude.
