Overview

Health, Safety and Environmental Coordinator — £35,000 — Bradford. Once trained into the business processes this would include possible hybrid working. This is an exceptional opportunity for a Health, Safety and Environmental professional to join an established and nationally recognised Manufacturer who are a market leader in their specialist field. Working on multiple projects across this production site, this hands-on position represents an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking business that is looking to expand their HSE function as well as offering exceptional development opportunities. Involved in a varied portfolio of projects and contracts, our client is looking for a Health, Safety and Environmental professional to maintain and improve standards in a fast-growing business that holds strong integral values. Reporting directly into the Board of Directors, this role can be a superb opportunity for the right autonomous Health and Safety Professional to work within a successful and friendly business and have the opportunity to see a variety of diverse teams.

Responsibilities
  • The Health, Safety and Environmental Manager will be responsible for: Providing Health and Safety advice and guidance to site and operation teams.
  • Complete Site inspections, audits and accident investigations.
  • Working with a range of individuals across a diverse risk portfolio, to ensure that safe working practices are conducted and at a later stage, that updated policies and procedures are adopted
  • Attending Health and Safety Meetings as appropriate
  • Reviewing risk assessments and method statements
  • The Health, Safety, Environment and Compliance Coordinator is a hands on is a key role within the business.
Primary responsibilities
  • Leading the development & delivery of the strategical business plans via an internal compliance group and planning and reporting on progress to the Executive Board
  • Maintain current BS EN 9001/14001 standards
  • Manage all aspects of health and Safety with a view to implementing ISO 45001 in 2026
  • Implementation of further waste stream management and waste contractor management
  • Prepare and present external auditor days which occur bi-annually (BSI)
  • Monitoring emerging, new and revised legislations to assess its impact to the business maintaining compliance
  • Accident investigations and root cause analysis maintaining risk assessment matrices
  • Assisting Technical Services with site risk assessment and method statements.
  • Assist with project tender processes as necessary (Supplier questionnaires KPI data)
  • Monitor and report on strategic KPI's
  • Promoting a Quality culture throughout the organisation
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance visiting suppliers where necessary
  • Management of Internal / External NCR's
  • Responsibility for creation of Audit Schedules and timeliness completions (Quality, Environmental and Product)
  • Document Control throughout the business
  • Component Quality inc. Red Tag / Hold procedures and management of quarantine stock with suppliers
  • Manage Online Training course system 'Shine' and report results
  • Work with external consultant 'Positive Planet' as part of our ESG on Carbon footprint reduction plan
  • Assist in compiling ESG information for senior management
